Every person you meet has value

Proverbs 20:14 The buyer haggles over the price, saying, “It’s worthless,” then brags about getting a bargain.

The world will want people to feel worthless so it can buy them at a bargain. It is only God than can determine the true value of a person.   God want’s a personal relationship with every person. He spared no expense to reach them. He paid the price, He didn’t haggle over the price. We are a pearl of great price, He spared no expense to be in all of our lives.

People are His portion, His prize. People, not things are Jesus’ inheritance.  We can genuinely say “Jesus deserves all ya’ll.”  And it’s because of that we all have value.

Even the worst of the worst

While ministering in a prison I met a girl that had screwed her life up in every way imaginable.  When I met her she had been in solitary confinement for 52 days.  She was there for two reasons, to protect her from the other inmates, they wanted to kill her, and to protect her from herself.  She was facing a life sentence for a crime, involving the life of a mentally handicapped child, that was committed while under the influence of drugs.  As far as I could tell, this young girl had not one person that wanted her alive.
A giant metal door with a little tiny slot for food is all that separated us. All I could see was her little fingers poking out and her red teary eyes peeking through.  I realized right then this is what ministry is all about.
All I could hear the Holy Spirit say to her was  “Jesus deserves you.”

We reach out because Jesus deserves them. Even the worst of the worst and the best of the best, He deserves them. He is the one that died for them.  He is the one that bought their freedom, took the beating for their healing.  People are His inheritance.
This is the core value for evangelism.
